Memorial Day

Our family went to the cabin over memorial weekend. It's one of our favorite places to go!!!! There are still projects my parents are trying to accomplish so my dad, Jake, and brother, Jon, got to work right away!

My dad worked hard on getting the railing around the deck put together! He, Jake, and Jon also dug our new fire pit. Throughout the weekend they kept burning piles of wood that needed to be removed!

It is always fun to relax and just hang out at the cabin. We laughed, played, and visited with my parents, Jon and Larissa's family, and Tim and Nicole's Family! We missed our other family members who couldn't come down - actually, my sister and her family were on there way, but we called and told them not to come (this was on the last day) because there were a few sick people and it was raining on and off!!

Some of the things we did for fun were: playing the candy bar game (this game is a real crowd pleaser!!!), "Pictureka" (also a really fun and new game by Hasbro Games), listening to the "chipmunk", "Settlers of Catan" (even beginners played well!!!), flying a parachute kite (so much more fun than regular kites and kind of hard too), and watching "Prince Caspian" at the local (small town) movie theater. Food is also fun, and we definitely had fun with some great cookin!!!

My parents planned a treasure hunt for the last day, but because of rain they had to alter their plans a little. They hid the treasure upstairs and had the kids come up one by one and find their treasure. It is so fun to have grandparents spoil the kids!!

Jake and I were really excited to visit the cabin over memorial day so we could visit Emmett's place and put some flowers close by. We think of him all the time and love him so much. Being at Emmett's place reminds us of how blessed we are to have had our special experience with him. Unfortunately, we didn't go up there as much as we wanted because it was pretty muddy. Thank you dad for helping with the flowers!

Looks like fun, and tell me about this candy bar game that sounds good to me. I'm sure it was also comforting to visit Emmetts grave.
Love you Moose!
