Recently Jake helped his Grandma with some problems she was having with her back yard. She had an old retaining wall that was falling apart. Since her backyard leads up to the mountains there is a lot of water drainage but the retaining wall was never built to aid the drainage and caused many basement floods and other damage. Grandma finally decided it needed to be fixed since it was starting to fall on her house. She felt inspired to have Jake take on this project (LARGE project) and he was more than willing to help (although this was a paid job). He had help from his brothers and friends and after several Saturdays, aching backs, muddy boots, several trips to the dump, and hard hard work they finished! They had to break up the concrete and haul it away, build a drainage system, build the new wall, lay pavers, rock, and sand, etc. WOW!!
The three above pictures are the finished product!! It looks AWESOME!! So much better than the original!
To get an idea of what they started with begin by looking at the bottom picture. It was taken after the had finished their first day.

Jake's grandma was thrilled with the results!
